Last semester, I took part in a pilot of a new evaluation form that would allow us to compare ourselves, nationally, to other teachers of similar courses. These are the results from CIS 502:
					Gender:  		Male - 8	Female - 11
					Pass-Fail:  		No
					Expected Grade: 	A - 20		B - 1

				Overall V.P.	Poor	Fair	Good	V.G.	Excellent	Mean
					Content:	0	0	0	10	9	3		4.62
					Instructor:	0	0	0	4	5	12		5.38
					Course:		0	0	1	10	7	3		4.57

				Subscale Ranking	Mean IR	CL	D	C	N
					Attitude	3.35		60	50	80	80	70
					Method		3.01		60	50	80	70	60
					Content		2.94		40	30	80	60	50
					Interest	3.05		70	50	90	80	70
					Instructor	3.31		50	50	90	70	60

					TOTAL		3.14		50	40	90	70	60

				The following codes were computed in percentiles!
					IR-Instructor Rank
					CL=Class Level
					D=Department
					C=College
					N=Nation

There were three questions at the beginning of the survey, rating "course content", "instructor" and "course in general" from "excellent" to "very poor" on a 6-point scale. • I would take another course that was taught this way.
  • The instructor seemed to be interested in students as individuals.
  • The course material was too difficult.
  • It was easy to remain attentive.
  • NOT much was gained by taking this course.
  • I would have preferred another method of teaching in this course.
